History
The following is a brief history of the Buckley Ranch neighborhood:
November 2003 |
The Developer creates the Buckley Ranch Metropolitan District |

May 2004 |
Commerce City approves the Buckley Ranch subdivision development plan - a 260-home neighborhood.

February 2005 |
The Declaration of Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions for Buckley Ranch (Buckley Ranch CC&Rs) is filed and attached to the 41 lots constructed by Beazer Homes.

February 2005 |
The Buckley Ranch Homeowners Association, Inc. is incorporated and assumes responsibility for enforcing the Buckley Ranch CC&Rs and providing architectural review services to the neighborhood. The 41 lots constructed by Beazer Homes become members of the Association.

February 2006 |
The District issues bonds totaling approximately $2.85 million to finance the build-out of the neighborhood's streets, sidewalks, park, utility lines, perimeter fencing, open space landscaping and storm water drainage infrastructure.

December 2005 |
Beazer Homes begins selling homes.

August 2007 |
Beazer Homes sells the last of 41 homes before declaring bankruptcy.

June 2012 |
King Soopers opens its doors for business (located at the intersection of 104th Avenue and Chambers Road)

January 2013 |
The Declaration of Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions for Buckley Ranch East (Buckley Ranch East CC&Rs) is filed and attached to 128 lots constructed by DR Horton and Melody Homes.
The Buckley Ranch East Homeowners Association, Inc. is incorporated and assumes responsibility for enforcing the Buckley Ranch East CC&Rs and providing architectural review services to the neighborhood. The 128 lots constructed by DR Horton and Melody Homes become members of the Association.

Melody Homes and DR Horton begin building homes and selling the remaining undeveloped 128 lots on the east side of Second Creek Open Space.

February 2014 |
The Buckley Ranch West Homeowners Association, Inc. is incorporated. The 128 lots constructed by Richmond American Homes become members of the Association.

April 2016 |
The Declaration of Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions for Buckley Ranch West (Buckley Ranch West CC&Rs) is filed and attached to 71 lots constructed by Richmond American Homes. The Buckley Ranch West Homeowners Association, Inc. is assigned the responsibility for enforcing the Buckley Ranch West CC&Rs and providing architectural review services to the neighborhood.

May 2016 |
Richmond American Homes begins constructing and selling homes on the 71 lots located on the west side of Second Creek Open Space.

May 2016 |
Two homeowners are elected on the Buckley Ranch Metropolitan District Board. The remaining three directors are associated with Richmond American Homes.

June 2018 |
Richmond American Homes sells the last of 71 lots located on the west side of Second Creek. The 260-home Buckley Ranch subdivision is now 100% built out.

May 2018 |
Three homeowners are elected to the District board. The District Board is now 100% controlled by and comprised of homeowners on the 5-member board.

January 2019 |
The three Buckley Ranch HOAs transfer all responsibilities to the Buckley Ranch Metropolitan District. All three HOAs stop assessing dues. |
